50ml Glass Jar This melting balm is soft & moisturising whilst offering relief for irritated skin including sufferers from post operative scar tissue. Penetrating to a cellular level with essential fatty acids helping to accelerate healing and growth of healthy new tissue. Anti-inflammatory, anti-neuralgic, antibiotic and antioxidant.
Instructions: Warm balm in the palm of your hand for a second or two then massage gently into skin as often as required. Ideal on dry areas and especially when resting at night whilst skin is repairing.
Organic Shea Butter - Moisturising, protecting and healing, especially for dry and damaged skin. It contains 5-10% phytosterol, which stimulates cell growth.
Carnauba Wax Flakes - Purified wax obtained from the leaves and leaf buds of the Brazilian wax palm. Keeps a firmer balm like texture and creates a protective barrier. May form tiny crystals in cold weather but this does not affect the ingredients in any way. Will prevent balm melting in hot weather but do keep balm in a cool place (not in direct sun light) as this will melt the balm and reduce the nutrition of the other ingredients.
Organic Calendula Oil – UK-grown flowers cold macerated in Organic High-Oleic content Sunflower Oil (origin: Holland) with 0.1% Rosemary Antioxidant. Promotes soft, smooth and supple skin. High in calendulin, carotene, waxes, tannins, phosphorous and vitamins A and C, a good wound healer and works well in treating scarred, damaged and irritated skin.
Organic Evening Primrose Oil – Exceptionally high content of Gamma Linolenic Acid (GLA), a substance the body needs to create prostaglandins. Deficiencies in prostaglandins will cause dryness, loss of suppleness and wrinkling. The skin will age more quickly and be less tolerant to sunlight and any damage to the skin will take longer to heal. Penetrates down into the skin making it softer and less prone to eczema and acne. It has a moisture-retaining effect, prevents drying of the skin, increases the cells’ ability to absorb oxygen and to withstand disease.
Organic Apricot Kernel Oil – A mild oil, which is tolerated by most people, and is especially good for sensitive, inflamed, dry or mature skin. A classic oil for sensitive skin and enhances elasticity and has a soft and smooth quality on the skin. It works well in anti wrinkle and skin rejuvenation products. Blends well with the other oils in this blend helping them to glide and be massaged into skin.
Organic Tamanu Oil – Anti-inflammatory, anti-neuralgic, antibiotic and antioxidant with saturated fatty acids, palmitic acid and stearic acid and up to 50% oleic acid (omega 9 fatty acid) and up to 50% linoleic acid (omega 6 essential fatty acid) ideal for treating scars.
Organic Rosehip Oil – Rich in essential fatty acids and the only vegetable oil which contains natural tretinoin, the acid form of vitamin A also known as all-trans-retinoic acid or ATRA. Very good for treating all kinds of skin infections and useful in the repair of damaged skin tissue caused by scalds, burns, varicose veins and skin over-exposed to sunlight, and for treating oily skin, sensitive skin, and reducing or healing fine lines around the eyes, wrinkles and scars. Rosehip is amongst the best vegetable oil source of omega 3 and is also a good source of omega 6, both essential fatty acids collectively known as vitamin F, involved in cellular membrane and tissue regeneration and normalising skin with large pores.
Natural Vitamin E – Alpha, beta, gamma and delta tocopherols which are 100% natural. Vitamin E is a classic antioxidant, which protects against the destruction of the connective tissue caused by free radicals. Non-GMO.
Organic Essential Oil of Bergamot – Uplifts the spirits, helps lift anxiety, minor stress & depression. Smells great.
Organic Essential Oil of Lavender - Angustifolia variety, flowers from France harvested at high altitudes. When lavender is grown at over 1400 meters, the plant produces more esters. If the oil is also distilled at high altitude, there is a lower air pressure so a lower temperature can be used & therefore more of the very volatile chemicals come through from the plant to the oil. It is more than worth all the effort as this is a superb oil.
The list of properties for lavender is one of the longest of all the aromatherapy oils. Here it is used for its calming affect on the skin as well as the mind & it seems to work best in small amounts.
No artificial colours, perfumes, preservatives, SLS or any nasties.
